Weekend Wine Tasting
 Fri & Sat April 30th & May 1rst 4-8 p.m.
Portugal (the small left outline in this map)is a tiny wine country, famous for their ports, and rustic wines, but you need to really check out modern Portugal wines to understand these are GREAT wines for the money. The wines are consistently rated, fruit-forward in taste, and still exhibit an "old world" style, but completely modern - and they just don't cost alot.
Check out this weekend's wine tasting lineup at our Lexington St store. And if you were lucky enough to land a spot at Solea's for Thurs, April 29th, you'll get to enjoy an evening of traditional Portugese food and wine!

 Lexington Street Wine Tasting
 Alentejo Loios 2008 Vinho Red $9.99 WS Best Value 87pts-This is a great value wine - nicely rated, delicious, and there are only 5,000 cases made...scoop it up! Its a zesty red with fruit forward flavors with a sweet & sour cherry finish.
 Alentejo Loios 2008 Vinho White $9.99 Pairing this with lighter fare is easy - tilapia, salads, calamari, or cocktail shrimp. The wine is lemoncello-esque - so a little sweet & sour but palate pleasing. The aroma gives cut grass and citrus notes.
 Vila Santa 2007 19.99 87pts WS. A blend of noble red Portugese grapes with Cabernet. It shows balance with its fruit forwardness and tannins. Dried plum and cherry flavors are primary with dark chocolate and spice in the background.
 Grinalda 2008 VinhoVerde $14.99 84 pts WS. Only 2000 cases imported. "Lots of lime and citrus in this light white, with notes of white pepper and hints of scallion" WS

 Chateau Beauregard Ducourt Bordeaux 2006 $9.99 You will see the prices continue to drop on great Bordeaux wines. The Ducourt displays concentrated aromas of oak, spice box, and fig. The Merlot, Cab, and Cab Franc are nicely balanced displaying flavors of strawberry, cinnamon french toast, and an earthy bramble note.
 Borsao Rosé 2009 $9.99 Strawberry and baking spice aromas in this Spanish rosé. 100% Grenache. Delicious summer time sipper.
