New Wines at D&L
GD Vajra Langhe Rosso 2007 - $14.99, and Martilde La Stega Barbera 2004 - $42.99 (Leah's new favorite) - from our favorite local importer - Adonna Imports of Waltham - come 2 beautiful Italian red wines, both expressive of the Northern Italy area of Piemonte. Nebbiolo (grape of the famous Barolo wines) and Barbera exhibit flavors of cherry, licorice, leather, spice, and violet aromas with balanced acidity. These reds are regal and elegant and can also be cellared.
90+ Cellars -3 awesome new additions to the growing selection of 90+ Cellars Wines. These are premium, 90pt and higher rated wines, sold under the anonymous label of 90+ Cellars, and priced significantly lower than the branded wine. These wines will be in Tues March 23rd, and they fly out of our stores, so feel free to reserve your bottles this weekend!

Chappelle St.Arnoux Vacqueryas 2007 - Vacqueryas is a sub region of the Cote du Rhone in Southern France. This Grenache, Syrah,and Mouvedre blend drinks very easy and displays mouth-watering black cherry and chocolate up front, and slight spice and white pepper on the finish. Value priced as well at only $16.99, this wine received 91-93pts vintage after vintage from RP.
FUSO Barbera 2008 - this wine almost didn't make it out to the shelves...disguised as a wine with no back label - or is it no front label? Either way, aside from the unique label, or lack there of, this Piemonte estate wine is delicious. Created by Walter Massa of Timorasso fame, a steel fermented Barbera, it has clean flavors of cranberry and rasberry, with rootbeer, tart cherry, and perfume aromas. A great value for Piemonte estate vineyard wine - $16.99

In the earnest pursuit of fun and unpretentious wine tastings, we thought it would be fun to let you sample 20 new wines in a "brown-bag" blind tasting.
For the first hour you can use your wine "expertise" to try to guess the brown bag shrouded wine you're tasting with any number of hints from our wine pouring staff, or if you are new or just don't feel quite ready to blind taste, we've got you covered - you'll be given the info on the wines at the door. After the first hour, we pull off the brown bags for full disclosure!
