We are excited to feature wines from the Graziano Family Wine Estates. Greg Graziano known as the "Italian Dreamer" by Wine Spectator was recently reviewed in the article about Mendocino grape growers in the Nov. 14 2008 issue for his passion for Italian grapes. These are delicious wines not to miss and suitable for a holiday table or gift!
In the Line Up:
2006 Monte Volpe Primo Rosso This wine is a blend of several different varietals, which include: Barbera, Dolcetto, Sangiovese, Nebbiolo, Carignane, Negroamaro, and Zinfandel. This wine has a dark purple-garnet color, with jammy aromas and flavors of ripe blackberries and plums. Rich full flavors, ripe tannins and a seamless balance that carries through a long, lingering finish.
2004 Enotria Barbera This barbera is a deep purple color with aromas and flavors of juicy blackberries and raspberries with a hint of currant. Soft tannins and a great natural acidity produce a wine for immediate enjoyment or one that will age for many years.
2007 Enotria Arneis Arneis wines have distinctive aromas and flavors of apples, Bosc pears, licorice, and nuts, with a rich and creamy mouth-feel. This wine has a rich body with crisp acidity and a medley of flavors and aromas of green apples and anise. A long finish follows a rich, supple texture and intensity on the palate.
2005 Graziano Zinfandel This Zinfandel comes from 15 different vineyards scattered throughout the benchlands and hillsides of Mendocino County. This vintage displays a rich dark purple garnet color and deep aromas of raspberries, wild strawberry, spicy white pepper with hints of toasty oak. Uplifting flavors of ripe raspberry and earth combine to give this full-bodied Zinfandel a generous mouth-feel. Rich full tannins and mouthwatering acidity dance across the palate into a long, lingering elegant finish.
